Aim — To monitor a live vaccine refrigerator, recognise a temperature excursion as it develops, respond in the correct order, inspect the affected stock, and reach a defensible disposition — protecting both the patients and the vaccine.
You are the pharmacist on duty in the vaccine store at Alizon Teaching Hospital. The refrigerator holds a live immunisation session’s stock and is logged continuously. Something is going to go wrong on your watch. What matters is whether you notice it, and what you do in the first few minutes.
At the end the session runs and you see how many children were actually protected.
